Introduction

MeU Care (“Me+U”, “Company” or “we,” “our” or ” us”) is committed to protecting your privacy.

This Privacy Policy governs how we collect, store, and use your personal data (as defined below), as well as other data and information arising out of and/or relating to you and/or your use of our Services – which include your use of www.meucare.com (the “Site”), and any other communications, technologies, features, mobile applications, and content we offer (collectively, the “Services”).

ME+U CARE IS A HITRUST CERTIFIED PRIVACY AND SECURITY ENHANCED COMMUNICATIONS PLATFORM. HOWEVER, IT IS CRITICAL THAT YOU UNDERSTAND AND AGREE THAT YOU ARE CHOOSING TO SHARE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION, AND THAT THERE IS ALWAYS A RISK THAT YOUR PRIVACY COULD BE AFFECTED.

We are a business-to-business Services company whereby we provide multidirectional, multimedia important communication, notification and messaging services that allows paid enterprise users (each a “Client” and collectively our “Clients”) to contact and send bidirectional messages and information to their user database (“users”) through mobile text messaging, chat, email and our other communication services. Our Privacy Policy primarily explains our data collection practices when collecting, storing and or using data on behalf of our Clients as a Service company, including the content of text, chat and other communication messages. If you are a consumer (member, patient, caregiver, provider) who received a communication delivered by us because one of our Clients uses our Site/Services and you wish to opt-out from receiving additional communications, please see Section 10 of this Privacy Policy below.

In addition, please review the Terms of Service which governs your use of the Site. To keep things simple, we use the same capitalized terms as those set forth in the Terms of Use, and their respective definitions, apply equally to this Privacy Policy.

To the extent we provide you notice on our Site of different or additional privacy policies or practices (e.g., at the point of our collection), those additional terms shall govern such data collection and use.

It is important that you read and understand the entire Privacy Policy before using the Site and our Services.

  1. Personal Data We May Collect or Use

This section identifies the categories and types of personal data that we may collect about you, as well as the purposes for which each category is collected.

For the purposes of this Privacy Policy, “personal data” means information that identifies, relates to, describes, is reasonably capable of being associated with, or could reasonably be linked, directly or indirectly, with an identifiable individual. All the below categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

In some instances, we use third party service providers to provide services on our behalf, such as server companies, customer service companies, data translation and integration firms, and other providers as needed to perform the Service. We require such third-party service providers to maintain the confidentiality of any information they receive under BAA.

Communication Purposes

Me+U communication Services including SMS Messages will be used to provide information or resources on topics including but not limited to the following:

  • Account Servicing – Billing reminders, updates to account information, HIPAA requests for personal representatives, claim payment status, customer service inquiries, or when new documents related to plan coverage are available (e.g. Explanation of Benefits (EOBs), Pre-authorization requests and, request for medical records).
  • Health care Related SMS Text and Chat messages – Care and Disease Management, Health and Wellness Programs and Reminders, Pharmacy Benefits programs and Behavioral Health programs.
  • Security – One-time pin (OTP) for account security during multi-factor authentication or to reset password.

We may create aggregated, de-identified, or anonymous information from data by removing certain data components (such as your name, email address, or linkable tracking ID) that makes the data identifiable, or through aggregation, obfuscation or other means. Subject to applicable law, our use and disclosure of such aggregated, de-identified, or anonymized information is not personal data or subject to this Privacy Policy.

We may collect personal data about you from the following categories of sources:

  • Directly from you, through your interactions with us, such as when you use the Site or Services, create an account with us, complete electronic forms, or otherwise communicate with us via SMS responses, chat, email, or phone.
  • Through cookies and tracking technologies, as discussed in more detail in Cookies and Tracking Technologies (Section 5 of this Privacy Policy).
  • From other users of our Sites and Services.
  • From affiliates within the Company.
  • From service providers, including those providing payment processing, analytics, advertising, hosting, marketing, customer and technical support (such as when you use our Site’s chatbot), and other services.

We may combine personal data received from one or more of the above sources to improve the quality of our data, which may include data provided to affiliates within the Company.

We may disclose personal data that we collect, or you provide, to the following:

  • Our Clients. We may share personal information to only the Client who gave us your contact information and request to communicate with you based on the consent you gave that Client for such purposeful communications.
  • Third parties related to compliance and harm prevention. Under certain circumstances, we may be required to disclose your personal information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities.
  • Third parties related to a change of ownership. If we or our subsidiaries are involved in a merger, acquisition, asset sale, or other corporate combination, your personal information may be transferred to the acquiring or surviving entity.
  • Voluntary to third parties. If you choose grant access to and/or share your information via our Services to other individuals, Web sites, mobile devices, social networks, health plans, hospitals, doctors, nurses, caregivers or other health care professionals, you understand that these other individuals, Web sites, mobile devices, social networks, health plans, hospitals, doctors, nurses, caregivers or other health care professionals can access your information, store a copy of it and share it with others. Any such copies of your information are governed by those individuals, Web sites, mobile devices, social networks, health plans, hospitals, doctors, nurses, caregivers or other health care professionals’ privacy practices. Others may be able to view your information from such copies. We are not responsible for the use of your information by others to whom you or your permitted invitees grant access to your information. You are solely responsible for any unauthorized use of the Site conducted via your password and User ID.
    Your Me+U CARE multimedia messages may contain personal or private videos, pictures, audio, music or text also referred to herein as (“assets”). Sharing Me+U CARE messages and the content within your messages is done so entirely at Your sole direction. Your Me+U CARE multimedia messages are shared with others in three ways: (1)Directly to the Clients who provided MeU with your contact information and consent to communicate with you; (2) internally with other Me+U CARE Users directly or (3) or through links embedded in Me+U CARE invitations sent by Me+U CARE on your behalf to recipients you’ve selected (such as family caregives/support people) . It is solely at your risk that you share including making sure that you do not give access to your account credentials or remain in a logged in state on a device that someone else has access to. Me+U CARE multimedia messages shared externally are limited-access, where access is gained through an obscured URL system. This obscured URL makes it difficult but not impossible for a third party to guess the URL address of your Me+U CARE multimedia message or content without an invitation from you including the relevant URL.

As noted above, the data we disclose to the above parties may include combined personal data received from one or more of the above sources to improve the quality of our data, which may include data provided to affiliates within the Company.

  1. Links to Other Sites

The Site and Services communications may contain links that connect to a third party, and those third parties may collect Usage Information and your Device Identifier when links from the Site are served to you for their own purposes. These third parties may have their own terms of service, privacy policies or other policies and ask you to agree to the same. For example, if you “click” on a link, the “click” may take you off the Site onto a different location. These other online services may associate their Tracking Technologies with you, independently collect information about you, including Personal Information, and may or may not have their own published privacy policies. We are not responsible for these third-party privacy policies or the practices of third-party parties. Be sure to review any available policies before submitting any personally identifiable information to a third-party application or otherwise interacting with it and exercise caution in connection with these applications. We also encourage you to note when you leave our Site and Services and to review the third-party privacy policies of all third-party locations and exercise caution in connection with them.

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies and analytics services to track activity on and gauge the effectiveness of the Site.  Cookies are files with a small amount of data which may include unique identifiers. Cookies are sent to your browser from a website and stored on your device. Other tracking technologies are also used such as beacons, tags, and scripts to collect and track information and to improve and analyze our Site.  You can instruct your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. Me+U uses SSL (Secure Socket Layer), the industry standard method for computers to communicate securely without risk of manipulation or recipient impersonation. We utilize SSL in the online registration process, in the login process, and in the account management section of the Site.

Me+U has received GeoTrust’s highest level of SSL authentication certificate.

Me+U uses strong encryption technology to protect sensitive information.

Me+U employs firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and system monitoring to protect against unauthorized access of our systems.

WE TAKE THESE PRECAUTIONS IN AN EFFORT TO PROTECT YOUR INFORMATION AGAINST SECURITY BREACHES. HOWEVER, THIS IS NOT A GUARANTEE THAT SUCH INFORMATION MAY NOT BE ACCESSED, DISCLOSED, ALTERED, OR DESTROYED BY BREACH OF SUCH FIREWALLS AND SECURE SERVER SOFTWARE. BY USING OUR SITE, YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT YOU UNDERSTAND AND AGREE TO ASSUME THESE RISKS.

We will retain your personal data only for as long as is necessary to provide you with Services, to comply with our legal obligations (for example, if we are required to retain your data to comply with applicable laws), resolve disputes, and enforce our legal agreements and policies. We will also retain certain personal information for internal analysis purposes. This information is generally retained for a shorter period, except when this data is used to strengthen the security or to improve the functionality of our Services, or we are legally obligated to retain this data for longer time periods. Our Site is operated in the United States and intended for users located in the United States. If you are located outside of the United States, please be aware that information we collect, including Personal Information, will be transferred to, and processed, stored and used in the United States. The data protection laws in the United States may differ from those of the country in which you are located, and your Personal Information may be subject to access requests from governments, courts, or law enforcement in the United States according to laws of the United States.

The Service is not designed or intended for children under the age of 13. We do not collect personal information directly from any person we actually know is under the age of 13. A parent or guardian, however, may use the Site to input personal information and personal health information for a minor. The parent or guardian assumes full responsibility for: (1) compliance with the Terms of Use with respect to the minor’s account; (2) ensuring that the registration information is kept secure; and, (3) ensuring that the information submitted in the minor’s account, including adult contact information, is accurate. The parent or guardian also assumes full responsibility for the interpretation and use of any information, third-party advice or suggestions provided through the Service or the Site for the minor. Information on Opt-out of Campaigns for our Clients’ Users

We offer Services enabling our Clients to send messages to you via text messages, chat and email. This Section is designed for those users who received a message from a Client.

All Enterprise clients agree to only supply previously opted-in member data.  By giving our Clients written consent and supplying your mobile number, you have agreed to receive SMS messages.

1 . You can cancel the SMS service at any time by replying “STOP”.After you send the SMS message “STOP” to us, we will send you an SMS message to confirm that you have been unsubscribed. After this, you will no longer receive SMS messages from us. If you want to join again, just sign up as you did the first time and we will start sending SMS messages to you again

.2 . If at any time you forget what keywords are supported, just reply “HELP”. After you send the SMS message “HELP” to us, we will respond with instructions on how to use our service as well as how to unsubscribe.

3 . As always, message and data rates may apply for any messages sent to you from us and to us from you. Messaging frequency varies.   If you have any questions about your text plan or data plan, it is best to contact your wireless provider. We will not use your previously collected Personal Information in a manner materially different than indicated at the time it was collected without your consent. To the extent any provision of this Privacy Policy is found by a competent tribunal to be invalid or unenforceable, such provision shall be severed to the extent necessary for the remainder to be valid and enforceable.
